Eliminate Drain Maintenance Costs Across Your Portfolio

One permanent screen removes a recurring reactive ticket class from every kitchen you are responsible for. Nothing for occupants or staff to remove, nothing to replace, and nothing to add to the PM schedule.

The SemperScreen® permanent sink screen mounts into the drain body and cannot be removed by occupants or staff. It captures food debris at the sink, before anything reaches the pipe, so drain protection stops depending on who is using the kitchen that day.

Apartment units, corporate pantries, hospital breakrooms, hotel and senior-living kitchens all fail the same way, for the same reason: nobody who uses the sink is responsible for the drain.

Training is not the fix

Removable baskets protect a drain only while somebody remembers to put one back. Across a portfolio with tenant turnover, rotating staff, agency cover, and guests, that is human error that no training program fixes.

A permanent screen removes the variable. It installs in ~15 minutes per drain as a retrofit with no plumbing modifications, so it fits inside a unit turn or a scheduled PM visit rather than becoming its own trade call. It is polished stainless (304 stainless steel), certified to ASME A112.18.2-2020 / CSA B125.2-20, and uses zero water.

Where this lands

The same failure, four different buildings

Multifamily

Apartment portfolios

Recurring in-unit drain calls, after-hours emergencies, and the tenant complaints that follow. Below-grade units carry sewage ejector risk on top. Rentals count as commercial and carry the 5-year commercial warranty.

Corporate campus

Pantries and breakrooms

Shared kitchens on every floor, nobody owning the sink, and odor tickets that reach workplace-experience surveys. Fixture-grade certification gives you something defensible when finance asks why prevention needs a line.

Healthcare

Hospital breakrooms and units

Published suitability for hospital breakrooms. Uptime is not negotiable and a backed-up kitchen line pulls plant operations away from work that matters more.

Hospitality & senior living

Hotel and resident kitchens

Published suitability for hotel rooms and senior facility kitchens. Guests and residents will never be trained, and staff turnover means the training you do run expires.

How it works

Stop the Problem at the First Point of Contact.

  1. Human Error at the Sink

Food scraps and debris, every employee, every shift, every day. Staff habits do not change and training does not stick. Unprotected drains receive it all.

  2. SemperScreen® Intercepts at the Inlet

The high-quality, 304 stainless screen seats permanently into the drain body. Debris is captured at the surface and human error is prevented. Nothing enters the pipe.

  3. DWV Stack Stays Clear. Pump Protected.

No debris in the pipe means no buildup, no clog, no service call. In below-grade facilities, nothing from the sink reaches the wet well and harms the pump.

  4. Maintenance Time Freed

Your maintenance lead's time opens for other tasks. No emergency calls. No remediation invoices. No downtime.

Proven at scale

From 8-Store Pilot to Company Standard.

A major retailer with 1,900+ stores and distribution centers found their breakroom sinks were the primary driver of recurring drain and ejector pump failures. After deploying SemperScreen® permanent sink screens across 8 pilot locations and documenting savings of "thousands of dollars" per install, they embedded it in the renovation specification for every location, with rollout through 2027/2028.

What the pilot changed

  • Emergency drain and pump service calls reduced to zero at pilot locations
  • Embedded in the company renovation specification for all standard-sized sinks
  • 60+ locations supplied and counting
  • Zero ongoing maintenance. The screens remain, the service calls do not

“Clogged drain lines in our apartment buildings are significantly reduced after installing SemperScreen® sink strainers. This product pays for itself 5 times over with just the first blockage or repair it prevents. Very few products in the apartment industry have that kind of return.”
